Half-round copper$35 – $55$5,600 – $8,800quoted

Tear-off and haul-away are included. Fascia repair is a separate line. Gutter installation cost Cincinnati-wide sits close to the national average; what pushes it up here is .032 gauge and closer hanger spacing for ice load, which is money well spent. The installation page explains the sizing.

Box gutter relining

JobTypical price
EPDM relining on sound wood$35 – $75 per foot
Trough rebuild plus EPDM$80 – $150 per foot
Copper relining$120 – $200 per foot

A typical 100-foot run of box gutter on a Hyde Park or Clifton home is $3,500–$8,000 for a relining and more if the wood needs rebuilding. The price is final after we open a section and see the trough. Details on the box gutter page.

Gutter guards

Aluminum screen $5–$9 per foot; stainless micro-mesh $10–$16 per foot. On a 160-foot home that’s roughly $800–$2,600. Cheapest when installed with new gutters, because the crew is already at every foot of the run. We don’t install reverse-curve guards because of how they behave under ice; the gutter guards page explains.

Gutter cleaning

Single-story $120–$200, two-story $180–$300, box gutters and steep or hillside homes quoted after a look. The fee comes off any repair we find. See gutter cleaning.

What moves the price

  • Stories. Two-story work costs 15–25% more for the setup. A hillside lot where the downhill side is three stories is more again.
  • Roof complexity. Every inside corner is a miter. A hip roof with ten corners costs more per foot than a plain gable.
  • Fascia condition. The biggest surprise on old houses. We probe it before quoting so it isn’t a surprise on the invoice.
  • Gutter size and gauge. Six-inch .032 is about 20% more than five-inch .027 and holds a lot more ice.
  • Drainage. Extensions are included; buried lines, or replacing a dead underground drain, are line items.
  • Season. No price difference, but April–May and November are the busy months. A September install gets scheduled fastest.
  • Color. White, brown and the common trim colors are stock; a specialty color adds a week for the coil.

A worked example

A two-story colonial in Anderson Township, 210 feet of gutter, five downspouts, a hip roof with eight corners and one soft corner of fascia. 6-inch .032 aluminum with 3x4 downspouts at $12.50 a foot is $2,625; ten feet of fascia at $12 is $120; extensions on five downspouts at $40 are $200; one added downspout on the 55-foot back run is $220. Total about $3,165, one day, old gutters hauled away. The same house quoted at $1,900 is almost certainly 5-inch .027 with 2x3 downspouts and spikes — the same gutters that are coming down.

Reading a Cincinnati gutter quote

Ask for the gauge (.032, not .027), hanger type and spacing (hidden screw hangers every 24 inches or less), downspout size and count, and whether fascia repair and haul-away are included. Any gutter estimate Cincinnati contractors hand you should be free, in writing, and good for at least 30 days. A number written on a business card in the driveway isn’t one, and neither is a price that only holds if you sign today. What the price per foot buys goes through the lines one at a time.

Questions we get asked

Is it cheaper to repair or replace gutters?

Repair, if they’re aluminum, under about 20 years old, and the trouble is in a couple of places. Replace if they’re sectional with seams every 10 feet, rusting galvanized steel, or more than a third needs work. Patching those adds up to a replacement price over three winters without the warranty.

Does homeowners insurance cover ice damage to gutters in Ohio?

Sometimes. Sudden damage — a section torn off by wind, a limb through a run, a collapse under an ice load — is often covered; gradual wear and years of overflow are not. Ohio policies typically apply the standard deductible, so a $400 repair rarely clears it. We photograph and document damage for the adjuster at no charge.

How much are gutters for a 2,000 sq ft house in Cincinnati?

Usually 150–180 linear feet, so $1,500–$2,200 for 5-inch seamless aluminum with 3x4 downspouts and $1,700–$2,500 for 6-inch, on a single-story. Add 15–25% for two stories and a fascia line if any is soft. Typical range, not a quote.
